Question Can anyone tell us how a UK registered nurse becomes registered to work in Tenerife?

Can anyone tell us how a UK registered nurse becomes registered to work in Tenerife? We understand the certificate needs to be translated and taken to the registering authority in Santa Cruz. Has anyone completed this process and could they advise in particular does anyone know the telephone number and address of the registering authority in Santa Cruz.
Thanks in anticipation

You need to contact the NMC and get the form - working abroad - cost 35 euros. 020 7333 9333. This gives you something like a reference from the NMC saying you dont have any complaints etc against at present
Then get all your qualifications translated by an official translator and stamped.
Then send to the university of Madrid for verification and recognition - takes about 2 months
Address in Spain:
Ministerio de Educacion y Ciencia
Dept Convalidaciones
Vitruvio 2
Madrid
Spain

Hi dede
Jane always keeps the highly trained nurses on file and if there is work for them, she will contact them.
At the moment she does have her regular nurses on hand but if there are extra required she certainly rings around any nurse that suits the requirements for such client.
If your friends are still looking for work in that field, I suggest they give Jane another call to refresh her memory as to who they are. You never know, something good may come of this. If any are fully trained therapists, she would also like to know.

I am a mental health nurse who is very keen to move to tenerife to be with family. Can anybody advise me on mental health services in tenerife and how the pay is compared back to the uk, How do i apply and where are the nearest mental health services to the south of the island.
I do not speak spainish unfortunately but have alot of experiance working with people with forensic historys and working with Doctors in the community assessing individals especially those with alcohol and drug history.

Hopefully my wifes qualifications are nearly sorted here in Tenerife as she is just waiting for them to be returned from Madrid, then we can return to the Gobierno in Santa Cruz to collect the Homologada which she can then take to the college of nursing and then hopefully she will be able to register here in Tenerife.

So far it has involved two journeys to Santa Cruz with a third visit hopefully in the next week or two.

No one here could tell us exactly what to do and we have managed to find out eventually using bits of information from lots of different people.
