Question Information wanted on becoming self-employed in Tenerife?

Hi there

Sharon here again with my second posting. I am a Portait Artist specialising in Pencil Portraits. Once I have moved to Tenerife this is the proffession I wish to continue doing maybe sat on a beach or an area in a shopping centre.I would obviously register as being self employed but would I just be able to set up on a beach somewhere or would I need a business address? If anyone has any answeres at all or can direct me to someone or somewhere that would know then please - I would appreciate all help. Many thanks .x.x.x Sharon

as far as i know you would need a beach or a street vendors licence(unlike the twirrly hairdressers who just run away).

try the town hall where you will be living for information but as far as i know they are very hard to get.

You will need certain documentation, e.g. an NIE, which will inevitably have your address on it, and it will be presumed to be your official business address. But you will also need to employ a gestor (sort of general purpose administrator) to produce accounts for your business, and all the paperwork will need to tie up with the information held by the tax and contributions agencies.

Your first step should be to contact a gestor (do a search on the forum for some contact details) ... and get some initial advice.
