Question Is street trading legal in Tenerife or not?

Can anyone give me info on getting a peddlers license which will enable me to trade on the street. The sort of paper work that allows you to do door to door in the UK.But obviousley I want the tenerife equivelant

Cheers

Sorry, I don't know anything about licences like this, but it occurs to me to wonder if it won't be very different from the UK. Door to door selling is one thing when you have a street of houses with front doors to knock at, but here, many if not most people in the main residential areas live in complexes with security. How would you get to them?

And pulling that suitcase on wheels full of jumping pigs, knife blocks and minature radios will soon become a bind when you only have 2 doors on a floor and 30 steps between each floor

Um ... you have already asked this ...

so I´ve moved your post here to the original thread (especially now that Dave´s actually answered the question ... below! ) and retitled it to give a better idea of the content.

Yes it is ilegal for them to sell their stuff. I was talking to one who got caught just a few weeks ago and he had his stuff confiscated. That was all that happened to him. He is here legally as he has a residencia. I'm sure that some of them will not be here legally though but I'll stand to be corrected if anyone here knows otherwise.

Talking

there is a licence system for street trading but these are like gold dust most are held by locals and they tend to be sold within a closed circle at silly prices.

as for door to door sales it´s a grey area but ther is a law against unsolicited selling(same one that applies against timeshare touts and the like) and as you are not a resident/tenant or invited by such you need to have the permission of the community president to enter the community(unless you are a postal worker or have the permission of a resident).

i seriously would not look into this further better to try the markets or advertising your product.
