Does anyone have any information on Health and Safety at work regulations?

Does anyone know who to contact regarding health and safety at work. Which government department would you need to contact, is there a central department or do each areas have their own departments for checking on people etc.

I suppose that they must have one, although you would never know it
but accidents etc are always investigated after the event, so there must be some sort of body in control.

Thanks for the info ... but that isn't going to help in Tenerife!

We can send you details of the company that we get our clients to contract their Health & Safety through (Groupo Preving) or get the company to contact you - it is a legal requirement for companies to have this sort of policy in place and for the sake of a few hundred Euros per annum is not worth the risk and hassle of trying to do it yourself, in my opinion.
(There are a number of other companies that do this here in Tenerife.)
