Question What are the possibilties of finding office or administration work in Tenerife?

Are there possibilties of admin/office work in Tenerife?

Or would the best option be bar/PR work etc?

All depends on your experience, language skills and how long you intend to stay in Tenerife

if you only intend to stay temporaily then go for bar work. Admin jobs are for the long termers otherwise you are wasting the companies time and taking permanant jobs from other permanant residents. Admin work usually involves other languages.

You'll need Spanish. I can't seem a company in tenerife employing and admin worker who couldn't understand the admin.

I think that the question has been answered, but just to continue for the benefit of anyone else in a similar situation.

Admin will almost certainly involve the use of a computer. This will mean that you are 99% certain to have a Spanish version of windows, so if you can't understand the prompts, messages et al you aren't in with a chance.

I have a degree and expertise in every area of IT (almost) but I don't speak spanish.

What are my chances of finding work?

I would imagine you've got no chance unless you speak Spanish. I'm looking for a new secretary myself but I wouldn't consider interviewing anyone who can speak to my clients/suppliers. I would suggest that you get bar work and take Spanish lessons then start looking for work when you've mastered the lingo.
