Office Dress code in Tenerife?

Hi all,

We are in the process of moving from California to England, and then from England to hopefully Tenerife. When we have been over we have always been on holiday, so I never really ventured into any offices.

I am trying to figure out what I need to pack in suitcase's and what to have shipped. I have worked for 14 yrs for the largest telecommunications firm in the US, from a warehouse manager, office manager, it manager. I pushed the limit for dress attire, as mostly got a way with a nice shirt and jeans most days.

I am in the process of currently learning spanish, I am about midway between tourist and basic conversation. What type of dress code to most of the office have their. Are they a suit and tie, or a littly more relaxed. Trying to figure out what I will need to have to start looking for work once we land in Tenerife around April.

Thanks.

My Mood:
Depends on the office to be honest. Where I worked was very relaxed. Jeans and a polo shirt. That kind of thing.

In my experience dress code is much more relaxed, unless of course you work for an organisation that requires you to wear a uniform in which case they provide it.
Most women in office or business situations that I know wear tidy jeans or trousers high heels, smart blouse or top, lots of bling around kneck and dangling from ears and of course the obligatory sun glasses on head!!

Santa cruz women tend to be smarter but then city folk often are LOL!!!

Lots of guys also wear jeans but often with a shirt and tie, salespeople seem to go for suits more.

It always suprises me when you see men going around in business suits shirt & tie in the heat

However if you see a group of six in a restuarant & one is dressed casually you can usually tell who is the boss
