You can order a vida laboral online, but that´s not the same as checking social payments. Do you mean by an employer? Do you not get chits from the bank to show payments made?

You´d only get something from the bank if you were self-employed, and I wasn´t sure. So no, don´t worry!

If you´re employed, do you get a payslip or anything from your employer that shows your social security payments. Do you have reason to doubt that they´re being paid, by the way?

They should have given you a month's notice before the end of the contact if they were not going to renew it to indefinido. Go to a lawyer. See the working rights thread.

Do you know who the company use for the laboral sideof things? If so go to thier office and ask if they are holdng any payslips for you.Perhaps the employer just never collected them or perhaps he hasnt paid the Gestor Laboral

Janet is quite correct you can apply online for a Vida laboral which will be posted to your address. This document will show all your working life in Tenerife (social paid for you). But if you do not type the address as the social have it on their computer when you apply online, then it gets denied. I should know it happened to me. So I went to the social and asked for one. But guess what the system has changed you can no longer do this. Now you have to ring the social up and ask for an appointment. Go to the appointment and request the Vida laboral and then they will post the document to you. No wonder the social was empty when I called.

When you are dismissed the company should give you a "certificado de empressa" white paper with green outlines which shows your "cotizacion" ie how many months you have worked for them in your case should show 360 days - you need this to process paro "dole" applications. If they refuse go to your nearest CCOO - union office and they have lawyers who give you advice for a small initial fee, if you have a claim against your employer for wrongful dismissal they will take on your case with the tribunal on a no win no fee basis. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING unless you are sure what it is as you could be signing a voluntary resignation. DO NOT sign another contract - especially if any of the details have changed. You could be "giving up one job" and "starting another"

The paper that the company gives you shows only your last six months working life (or less if you have not worked for them six month) and this is used to calculate your dole money. The union office in the Valdes Centre do not charge for advise. But if they advise you to go to court you have to pay them 'win or lose'. The fee for the lawyer and the tribunal cost is about 110 euros. If you use these lawyers you need to have someone with you who speaks Spanish
