anybody know anything about redundancy laws in Tenerife? My DH has been made redundant after working for 6 weeks - contract for 3 months - redundnancy notice given by company lawyers. Only received 1 months pay, his he entitled to the other 2 weeks he worked?, the holiday due under a 3 month contract? and what about early termination? - I know somepeople will think its nothing as he wasnt there long but its left us right in the S**T with the mortagage and christmas and NO wages! Been looking all week for another job and nothing about -

try going into Los cristoanos cultural centre and there is an advice centre there who might be able to help.Take all papers hes got with you and anything he has been given to sign
PM me for the number of a lawyer... better still, the bloke has just walked in... I shall PM you it.
I believe you have to be given a month's notice of the termination of your contract and they must pay up the whole 3 months, however best to confirm with the lawyer. He gives free advice and only takes a percentage of what you win in court. Speak to him directly about fees.

aren't the first 2 months of such contracts a trial period? it's happened to me as well and that was what i was told (and it said so in the contract), so i wasn't entitled to any compensation or anything. although they did pay me up to the day i worked and i got the holiday money i was owed. (i even got that on a contract where, after 2 days, i worked out!)

Do you mean 'walked out'? I have visions of you doing aerobics in the office
