How much are the taxes I'll pay on my salary in Tenerife?

Hi!

I'm moving to Tenerife. My salary will be around 25.000€. It's around 1790€(X14) per month

How much are the taxes?

I've heard that in the first 6 months i'll pay 24% and then 10%. Is it like that?

Thanks for the help!

Muito obrigado!

It depends and I don't know what on. I pay 15% tax which I've been told sounds about right, but a colleague doing the same job on the same salary figures he has 18% deducted every month...

Hope this helps

Has this colleague been in the job for more than a year, RS?? Something tells me that the tax rate might go up after the first year's employment, or one's allowances change, or something like that .....

No, he's been in the job 4 months longer than me. I was discussing this with a senior colleague today who thinks it's more common for your tax rate to start higher because the Hacienda don't know you, then they adjust it down later. He seemed to think I may have to pay the Hacienda a little something at the end of the year because I won't have a full year of employer retentions. We were discussing me starting a pension plan to increase the chances of Hacienda giving me a refund......

It might be to do with age... I know that I pay different autonomo contributions to my colleagues because I am younger...
