Are there ever any job vacancies in Jewellers in Tenerife?
Just a question re working in a Jewellers in Tenerife. Are there ever any vacancies? I studied for four years and completed a Proffessional Jewellers Diploma awarded by the National Association of Goldsmiths. I have lots of practical and theoretic knowledge just not the working capabilities.(ie: not a jobbing jeweller (wish I was!) Also is there an equivalent to a Jobcentre in Tenerife that is free?

unfortunatley not yet! I have only recently started, I feel it would only be to my benefit if I did. There is sooo many cultured and bi lingual people in Tenerife it would be rude to not give it a go!!! I did email "ideal" some time ago with my C.V they were kind enough to reply and told me to pop in next time I was over, haven't been back since!!!! Fool!
Well, the only thing I would suggest is to ask around at the various jewellers when you are next over.... However I would think you would have to have a decent level of Spanish and be living here before anyone would employ... so maybe you should get yourself a CD set and start learning while you're waiting to come out

i know in the centro commercial san eugenio used to have an english girl in a jewellery shop as it helped with the tourist but she couldnt hack the split shifts, something to think about with some shops
There used to be a jewellers that advertised regularly on Oasis for staff. I don't know if that would be a good thing though, as it indicates high staff turnover to me...
