You can also get a job here without a NIE ... but it will probably be just payment in cash, with no formal contract. | | | 23rd August 2007, 13:36 | #5 (permalink) | | Newbie Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Gender: Posts: 23 | sounds good thanx. I dont need a contract but id would be nice to get a NIE as a Balkanian. If you know how, let me know , please. It would be much easear to get a job with it. I dont want to go to police and try since it might happen that they refuse me and send me home. I am here for one month and am allowed to be up to three months and then I should leave spain and come back. | | | 23rd August 2007, 13:37 | #6 (permalink) | | Banned Join Date: Nov 2005 Gender: Posts: 9,582 | You HAVE to go to the police to get a NIE, that is where they are issued. Have a look through the sticky thread on NIEs HERE, and the discussion thread on NIEs HERE... all the information you need is there. | | | 23rd August 2007, 17:14 | #7 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: May 2006 Location: Phuket, Thailand. If you want a contract then I personally would always take an EU member over a non-EU member.....simply because the paperwork is easy, hassle free, no visa, no passport stamp etc. __________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I don't need a visa and noone can tell me exactly about my country because everybody talks about UK citizens who have different rights and procedures. NO wonder since this is a UK island, more than spanish. I like UK people, like the language although I think my spanish is better than my British english although I have studied english for 20 years now and spanish for only 3 months. I have studied american as I realize now, not English. | | | 26th August 2007, 11:48 | #9 (permalink) | | Banned Join Date: Nov 2005 Gender: Posts: 9,582 | It's not privileging British ... Spain is part of the EU. The citizens of any country that is in the EU would have the same rights. The fact that we only talk about British issues and rights is just because most of us on this forum are from the UK! | | | 26th August 2007, 12:00 | #10 (permalink) | | Newbie Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Gender: Posts: 23 | t That is exactly what I said or meant to say, I wasn't talking about privilages, I said that most people here are British and EU- citizens and of course that they know about their rights and not about the rights of non UK or non EU citizen. It's logical. People have been helpful, telling me I CAN get a job. As you can imagine, one can feel discriminated they judge im only by his passport, it doesn't matter what kind of person I am and what I can do, education or experience don't matter if you have the wrong passport. Doesn't seem right, does it? But that's the way it is. All the people with european passports should feel very lucky. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | |
