NVQs in Tenerife

This one seems to have stoped, any answers? I have a number on NVQs, and would like to know if they are recognised. Thanks

They may be of some use if you work for a British company here. But if you're wishing to work for a Spanish company here, the value would be at best, limited. HTH.

I have a degree, but it's best part of useless here without speaking fluent Spanish.

They are "national" qualifications ... national, in the sense of British. They are unlikely to be of much use here because there will be equivalent Spanish qualifications specifically geared to Spanish rules and regs in the various fields ...

As Steve says, if you're working for a British company here, then they will mean something to employers, but they're unlikely to be legally valid even then.

with the exception of the european passport for computers studies you have to sit a competency test in the nation you are moving to and in the language of that nation for your qualifications to be recognised.

see here.

i was asked for a copy of mine when i worked at an english school over here. as somebody said, only for english companies and only at their request are they recognised. i do know you have to get all nursing qualifications sent to Madrid for translation before they will help you to find employment here.

itīs the same for all proffessional qualifications jojo.

even if you work for an english company based in spain if something happens(an accident or something like that) unless you have your qualification spanglified(hey a new word) you should not be doing the job for insurance purposes(i.e. you are not qualified for the proffession).

and i am not qualified as a spellchecker.

p.s. i do know there are exceptions but i do not know what they are.

Does this include European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)? We have just spent the last few months and several hundred euros sorting out my wifes nursing qualifications here in Tenerife. Hopefully only one more visit to Santa Cruz.

no videoman it does not apply to the ecdl which is the same as the passport for computer studies which was the forrunner of the ecdl.

no offence to those that have the ecdl but it isnīt considerīd a proffessional qualification i.e. degree, hnd, onc, so on and so fourth.

it also does not include secondary education upto "A" level or itīs equivelent.
