Is there a difference in the weather between North and South Tenerife?
I have heard that the weather in the south is warmer than the north. Is this true. Also I am going to Callao Salvaje in May. Is this classed as the south and will it be warmer there.

I am writing from the North. I wonder if you guys in the South are telling the truth and nothing but the truth. I can't believe that it's such a big difference between the two parts of Tenerife.
Anyway, up here it's been splendid in Jan. Now, it's...Oh, forget it.
Tomorrow is another day. Might be brilliant, who knows...

I've often driven from the south in brilliant sunshine to the north, which has been shrouded in cloud. I personally don't think it's open for argument, it's simply a fact that the north is generally cooler, cloudier and wetter. This doesn't make it worse, just different. Of course, it's not 100% reliable, a couple of weeks ago I was walking in the Anaga mountains in fantastic sunshine having left behind a thick 'haze' (calima?)in the south. The scenery in the Anaga is simply the best on the island in my opinion and would not exist if it wasn't for the climate in the north. For me, the superb diversity of the island is one of it's greatest assets.

Before the recent snow i drove round the north in early march and there was still a sprinkle of snow looking over puerto cruz.....but here it had been gone for weeks.
Also the temp difference from south to north is normally in the region of about 5 to 10 degs.
Last week were 78 and the north was about 71
I love the north for the greenery but the south has the weather

Well, TBH, the WHOLE Island has the weather compared to the UK!!!
However the south tends to be a little less changeable and sunny.

What are you talking about ... in the space of 20 minutes it's been sunny, then rain and now cloud!!! (cos it's my day off!!!)
I said TENDS TO BE A LITTLE LESS CHANGEABLE... I didn't say the south wasn't changeable... just less so, in comparison to the north.
