Unhappy What's the weather like in Tenerife in May?

Afternoon everyone, we are coming over on Wednesday (hooray) just a quick question, is it cloudy every day like it says on wunderground? Or are they trying to wind me up?

Weather Underground and Yahoo are a bit pants, TBH. Try Intellicast or Accuweather for a more accurate forecast.

It was beautiful today and beautiful yesterday! Not a cloud in the sky where I live!

May 2006 and it's hotter in Glasgow than in Tenerife!

I took off from Tenerife Airport on Thursday at mid day bound for Glasgow.

Temp in Tenerife 24 degrees.

Temp in Glasgow 4 hours later at 5pm 25.5 degrees.

Whats that all about??!!

I read that the UK had a couple of hot days (hotter than Tenerife!) due to warm air going from Spain, over France and then accross the UK. Luckily for us we live on a Spanish island so the hot air is with us all year round

Thursday & Friday last week in Uk were quite warm. Now its back to normal - cold & windy. So that was our British summer for this year !! .
Hopefully we will win the Lottery big time, move out to Tenerife and be warm all year round .
Whats the temperature like in Jan/Feb on the reef ??

It depends where you live... Los Cris and Las Americas has it's own 'micro climate' caused by the volcano (does anyone recall 'relief weather' in Geography?) so it doesn't really change much throughout the year - hence why it's developed into a tourist resort - in fact Tenerife has the smallest difference between summer and winter temperatures than any where else in the world.

If you go up into the mountains, or to Santa Cruz, there's quite a bit of rain at that time of year, a Puerto de la Cruz is generally a bit wetter too.

At my house, we get a real winter. Rain, wind, cold... but it's still warmer than the UK and you do get good days.

You should have PM'd me beforehand. I would have given you directions to my gaff and stuck the kettle on.

Got a burst pipe on the roof which is leaking out of the wall... it's where my washer is plumbed in. The leak is going into the roof though and dripping onto my dining room table... not good. Have someone coming up a bit later to have a look!
