Question What is the weather like in January in Tenerife?

We usually holiday in July but have hopefully persuaded Hubby to have
an extra week at the beginning of January. I was wondering what the
weather is like. Obviously it wont be as hot as July but what kind of
clothing will we need. What time does it get dark and I would love any
more useful info.
Cheers

the weather in january is pretty good but can be unpredictable(you should still get a tan).
sun goes down about 7/8 o´clock
but some time s there can be more holiday maker´s at this time of year than in the summer(mostly older folks).

I thought it was bloody freezing in January! I spent Christmas and New Year in snowy Sheffield and came back to Tenerife in January last year. I thought it would be warmer and yes, it was but not that much to be honest!

I had a thick double duvet on my bed and I was wearing long pyjamas and socks!!! I guess I just can't cope with the cold full stop!

Mind you, the whole time I was in England I had the central heating up full blast so that might have something to do with it! Doh!

We also get a winter!

January is our winter! Yes we also have a winter over here, although it's not as bad as the UK winters and it can get quite cool during the night. January/February is our rainy season and when it rains it rains. We actually had to go out and buy a radiator last year as it did get quite cold on an evening.

I'd agree with that! You'd need a cardigan for the evening and it can rain a bit during this time. However years ago it used to be in the late 70 degrees both day and night, but that's all changed with the increase of buildings etc..

I went to LC in january (so robbie its not only old folk) it was a fab break it was hard to belive it was january and I was sitting on a beach, got a bit cold when the sun went down. January in wales is a depressing month cold and dark but the holiday got rid of the winter blues, going back in january see you on the beach
