Does anyone know if Mount Teide has any lying snow on it at the moment in Tenerife?

Someone told us today that there is snow on Teide due to the storm we are having! I know we can't see it yet with all the cloud, but I hope it's true as it looks wonderful when there is! We have the best of all the weather, it's hot down here, but if you miss the snow, you just have to go up there.

i havent seen any today ...but it was covered on the northen side on sunday afternoon..hubby can back on plane and saw it lol

I've been told that the general rule of thumb is that when it has any substantial

in the south, there'll be snow on teide......

None this morning! But it's much colder in the North, so there will be some there now. Anytime now I am sure! Usually before Christmas.

No, there is no snow on Tiede at the moment.
We did have some in October during a storm but it melted quickly soon after.

We could go a winter without any snow on Tiede it depends.

It is a good laugh when it does snow though. Get your bin liners out and do a bit of snow surfing. If it snows too much though they will not let you up there.

Do a search for wbcams on the forum. You'll pull up a couple of links to Teidecams and be able to keep track of the snow cover.

In order for snow we need a couple of day of rain in winter. Any more than that and it melts.

I think you will find that the most snow is found at the end of Dec/Jan time hope you aren't planning to ski though because it's not generally done just plastic bagging down the side of the mountain all good fun

The weather becomes crazier from year to year. Teide was covered by snow in April this year but isn't in december ^^

Actually we have 16 degrees centigrade in Germany in December! Who can think about Christmas when it's 16 degrees? (I guess all folks on Tenerife ^^)
