Just to balance things so that people don't get the wrong idea ... it is NOT WINDY elsewhere! It is as mild as anything without a breath of air in Callao Salvaje, for example. Silicon Beach, why not start another thread on windsurfing weather, or El Medano weather ... this is confusing here because it's the Tenerife Weather thread.

El Medano is in Tenerife, so the windy weather we're getting is Tenerifan weather just like the calm weather that you lot get ... any ways, if it gets too windy for this thread, I expect it will be 'moderated'

I do hope you both keep posting in it, because I'm certain it will be of interest to a specific group of people ... El Medano is renowned way beyond the Canaries as a windsurfers' paradise, and SB's updates will almost certainly help those who are planning to come here for windsurfing .

right then, here's today's weather report ...

phew, yet another great day here - will the wind ever stop blowing night and day after day here in El Medano ...

Started out on 4.2m sail as it was looking well windy, but the wind here is a bit 'thinner' than the UK, and you know what they alledge about tush sails (that they're smaller than their size) ... so I soon changed to the correct size for me - 4.7m (most others were indeed on 4.2's though).

Once i got on the correct size sail it was a cracking day - allthough again a bit crowded at the harbour wall, today being yet another fiesta.

Now I know for sure that my sailing has come on leaps and bounds since we've been here. I'm finally happy with port tack jumps and really getting into the groove on frontside riding - turning harder, sharper, more vertical and thus getting some good cutbacks off the lip - totally adictive

I had a day off from windsurfing today, but it looks like another windy day tomorrow see link http://www.surfcenter.el-medano.com/...st/default.htm.
I will probably be using my wave cult and a 4.2 sail on friday
