August is generally the hottest month, with temperatures up in the 30s regularly during the daytime, and not too much below that throughout the night. Sometimes, with a calima or scirocco, temperatures can peak in the low 40s. The hottest temperature recorded in Tenerife was 48 degrees in August 2004, the effect of a scirocco following directly on from a calima.

I heard on the radio a few days ago that Tenerife is heading into the hottest summer for 50 years!
