Armas Portimao to Tenerife ferry - Q&A thread

as title, if you have used this service, can you please give me a postcode or accurate address for the armas terminal in portimao, that i can put into my satnav???

thanks in advance.

if you havent used this service and are looking here for info - i can tell you that its a LOT chepaer than the cadiz - tenerife ferry. particularly if your travelling alone and not a canary island resident!! feel free to pm me if you need any details/info on this.

you can even sit in a chair for 40 hours... again cheaper

the Cadiz companies want you to have a bed... staying awake for 40 hours to save about € 300... who's making money that fast?

good luck on your trip and I'm anxious to hear your story when you actually do it

did you know you can even get a discount with a 'residencia canįria'... has to be close to for free then, too bad you can't use that

can't you find an address on Naviera Armas ?

theres nothing on the website as to where the port is, i looked when booking.

as for prices, i just paid 225 euros for just me and my medium sized car, with only a reclining chair to sleep in on a night, which, thank you for your concern, suits me just fine, as i am on my own and not thinking of this as a holiday. i will just have a few beers and get my head down, no different to sleeping in the cinema or tv lounge at work, which i am highly competant at. obviously if i had family coming along this would have changed.

as a non-resident (which i will be staying as i will be working out of the country), the cheapest i could find on cadiz ferry was 817 euros, admittedly with he cheapest double cabin for 2 nights, which i dont need in my opinion. so a saving of almost 600 euros.

still dont have an exact location for port but if i dont get one, i arent so worried.

thanks but its nothing to do with the armas ferry terminal

"the Marina de Portimćo, which is designed to cater for yachts up to 50 mt. long, has assumed the leading position in Portugal as a preferential super Yachts destination"

i dare say i will find it fairly easily....

Just booked to go on it 8th November as before then fully booked - only one sailing per week. 550 euros for 2 plus car not bad. You need to register your passport/id details for the spanish authorities to check so don't think you can just turn up and if you don't get on without prior booking you've got one hell of a wait for the next one !!
