Does anyone know of any possible problems flying in to Tenerife through Madrid?

Almost finished the first rotation in Kuwait. My company's travel agent, Doofuss,Dippie & Demented, have booked me through Athens and Madrid.
Has anyone any info on Madrid ? Any problems with the terminal or pitfalls to watch out for, ala`T5 Heathrow?

Thanks,
Eric

We went from Gatwick or was it Heathrow can't remember! to Madrid, didn't stay in Madrid for long but the only thing we had a problem with was the luggage. Because we had to change flight my luggage got lost and was not sent on but was sent back to the uk! We were not the only ones, advice i would give is make sure you spread your essentials between cases just incase one gets lost (wasn't fun wearing my mums clothes for 3 days)

We just had a friend who was staying with us go back to kuwait. He came through Madrid on his way to Lanzarote and then from Lanzarote to here. He said the only bad thing about Madrid, was he was going to be stuck there for 9 hours before his flight back to Kuwait. On the way here he had a 3 hour layover in Madrid and he said it was fine, no problem.

thank's TC22 I'm only traveling with a couple of small carry-on's so I hope to avoid the lost luggage syndrome. ( I'd hate to have to wear my wife's clothes for three days, she dosn't have anything to match my eyes )

Limeysgrl, I do have about a 4 hour layover there, but with the other routes offered it was either overnight in the UK or only have 45 in to an hour to make a connection.

Thanks Guys

Eric

I flew from here to Dublin once, through Madrid.
I didn't realise that there were two terminal buildings, and barely made it to my connecting flight on time. I only had thirty or forty minutes from disembarking and re-boarding.
My baggage was transferred from plane to plane without a problem.
However, with only hand luggage and four hours to spare, you should be grand!
Dave.
