Angry Why are flights to Tenerife so expensive these days!?

Just looked to book some flights from Luton to Tenerife South in October during the holidays and it's unbelievable!

On Thomson it's:
£243 each!

On Monarch its:
£350-400 each!

This was both there and back...

Then i looked for around christmas they were still pretty expensive.

Then i looked for February, and guess what? Still to expensive!

I really want my mate to come with me and stay in the place where i stay in with my dad but hiis mum cannot afford them prices understandably!

I can only fly from Luton to because my mum will not drive back from London on her own.

I don't think i will ever be able to go to Tenerife with my mate now

Does anyone know if the prices go down or anything towards the holidays? I fly to Tenerife often but i never really take notice...

Thanks.

Interested in how you make it £140 ?

€120 + €110 = €230 - at the headline rate (1.27) thats about £182 + the £38 = £220

Take into account probably paying the fares by credit card and the exchange rate will be less so could be something like £225 ......... then there's the hassle of changing flight in Barcelona ......Unless you have someone to meet you at the North airport (and take you back of course) so you get a free'ish trip to the south then the direct Thompson flight at £243 sounds the best bet to me !

The 110 refers to the direct bus service & NOT the price! What hassle is there in changing flights at Barcelona? How long does it take you to earn £100? Would you work a Saturday for £100? But you'd rather spend an extra £100 than break up your 4hr flight & walk to another departure gate?

On flying back from Estonia last year I had a 4 hour stopover in Warsaw so got a taxi into town & had a relaxing few beers in a very beautiful city....... and saved about £300 in the process!

Sorry mate but your definition of hassle is entirely different to mine.

After your explanation I agree - saving £100 is worth the changing in Barcelona but on my original understanding of your post then I still say to save less than £20 it would not be worth it on any trip !!! -you would spend more than that killing time in an airport.
