Flying from Tenerife to Greece?
Can any one tell me about getting to Greece from Tenerife Are there any direct flights - or do you have to fly from mainland Spain - or is it best to go back to the UK and fly from there?

You have to go via the mainland. I don't know too much, but from what I do know, it always seemed cheaper to go via the UK!

If you find anything out, please share it on here, as I would be interested in it too.

A few years ago we found the cheapest and most convenient route was via Madrid. Can't now remember the cost but it was cheaper than flying via the UK.

Athens flights - I don't think so!
Thanks guys for all the help and advice. I have driven myself demented trying to sort out flights to Athens from here in Tenerife. From what I have encountered I have found out that Athens from here is very expensive (I have been quoted from 609€ to 1,300€, depending on dates) and the connections are really bad -11 hours in between Madrid and Athens. So thinking at the moment of giving up, unless I can find someone with a private jet who will whisk me over there of course!
I must say that Skyscanners was better! The prices were cheaper, but even then the flight times and connections were very much the same. Any more help would be appreciated

Hi, I did this route a few years ago. I went with Iberia to Madrid then with Olympus to Athens. We were waiting around a bit in the airport on the return journey but it wasn't so bad.

Have a look at www.clickair.com

Barcelona-Athens return 333 Euros and its quite cheap to get to Barca from here, particularly if you have residencia.
