Fred Olsen - Santa Cruz to Gran Canaria

Hi,

We are travelling to Gran Canaria on Friday for an overnight in Gran Canaria ...

Does anyone know if Fred Olsen has an overnight car park in Santa Cruz ?

If not what about somewhere close by where it would the car would be safe ?

I did call the Fred Olsen office but unfortunately my Spanish was not up to the task........

Thanks

ferry

Hi, sorry unable to help you. Could you possibly let me know what the cost was as we are thinking of doing the same. Was it not an option to take your car across with you?

Hi Woolli,

I paid €116 euro's for 2 of us as foot passengers - this was with an upgrade to their gold service .... I think it was €90 for standard service (gold = just better seats and free drinks I think). Fred Olsen is a fast cat ship and only takes 1 hour and there is a free bus to take you from the port in G.C. to Las Palmas (about 20mins).
F.O. Ferries leave about every 3 hours. So yes you could easily leave early and get back late the same day.

Yes we could have taken car but decided to use the free bus as we are only staying 1 night for a short break so will stay in Las Palmas this time.

There is the Armas ferry service which takes about 2-3 hours and they quoted €43 for both of us. Bear in mind we are residents of Tenerife and get a discount off the normal prices ( I think about 40% but not sure about that).

Hope that helps

I travelled to GC yesterday for the day with Olsun and it cost €158.18 return just me and car.

This included a €50 (!) fuel surcharge - sign of the times, I guess...

They also have a "Ci" tarif for two adults and car which is actually cheaper and have seen this advertised at €90, €100, and €110 - not sure which it is!

Maybe anyone going over alone should stand at the port and offer to give 3 others a lift! Car sharing...
