Do you need your passport to fly to mainland Spain from Tenerife?

Just wondering as I am planning a trip to Malaga & want to know if you can fly to the mainland without a passport.

Hmmm...because my father-in-law rang someone who works for Spanair & they said no, don´t need a passport when flying to the mainland.

I just wanted to know if anybody here has flown to the mainland from Tenerife & not used their passports.

I myself didn´t for 1 minute think that you can go anywhere inland or outbound without using a passport, especially these days anyway with extra security checks & whatnot.

Thumbs up

Went to Madrid last year and was told the Residente card would be enough, still took my passport just for chances which proved to be a good idea in the end as they wanted to see both through passport control as i was getting on a connecting flight to Barcerlona. I'd take it just for chances cos they can be not helpfull at times if they choose to be.

Our Main office is in Malaga and I have never needed my passport to fly to Malaga, just my resident card

dropped my mate off at the airport yesterday and they asked to see her passport and her resident card (flight to madird then on to malaga). probably best to take both..

I suspect that if you didnt take along your passport, and tried to board a flight, then you might well be "invited" into a sparse room, where a man with a big rubber glove wants to inspect your bottom
