Monarch and Iberia fly to Gibraltar but I donīt know if they fly directly from Tenerife I think they donīt, you could always fly to Jerez, Malaga or Algeciras and then drive down to La Linea and then over the border to Gib itīs not far.

You have to fly from here to Malaga and then drive. We did this in June as we got married in Gibraltar. We got flights with Spanair and only cost 230 euros return for 4 of us with residents discount. Drive to Gibraltar was about an hour and a half. The shops are great - Next, Topshop etc.

You can fly from Tenerife to Jerez or Seville directly but the drive down to La Linea is futher than from Malaga airport. But you can see the green scenery and stop off for tapas....and then fish and chips in Gibraltar!!

Great shopping in Gibraltar all the UK shops and so near to Spain. I bought all my Christmas food in Morrisons and it was a lot cheaper than buying it from Iceland the mark up in Iceland at Las Chafiras and Los Cristianos is remarkable But really there isnīt much option if you want to buy British produce in Tenerife.

I would say that when you go to Gibraltar it is easier to walk over the border than to go over by car, and then you can get around the shopping streets on foot, the buses are very frequent and go right around the rock.

Another thing to remember is to take your British passport if you try to use your Canarian Residencia they wonīt let you in, as strictly it seems that it isnīt proof of your nationality and identity and neither is the scruffy new piece of paper they issue in the Canaries. You need your passport!!

If I can go to the UK. with this why is it not acceptable in Gib ?
I thought is was an EU identity card, which does state your nationality, along in the case of the card, it has photo ID. address & a fingerprint. What more do they need, in fact has more info than my passport does.

Well they donīt let you in with your residency card according to the police at the frontier it is proof of residency but not your identity your passport legal proof of your identity, you can try going with your residencia but itīs a shame to get turned back best take your passports if you want to enter.
