Flights to Tenerife - Why is life never simple?

If I were paranoid, i'd think that the airlines were trying to stop me flying to Tenerife next year.

Jet2.com. The price is reasonable but the arrival time (19.30) gets us there after the reception closes at our destination and means we miss an entire day anyway. And on the way back departure (20.30), leaves us with 7 hours to kill after kick out time.

Airtours and My Travel are now part of Thomas Cook and their prices are just non-starters.

Thompsons same as the last two. Just too expensive.

So it looks as if Tenerife is out of the frame for next year.

Thats too bad, do you not know anyone here who could put you up for the first night and then let you leave you things at theirs on your last day?

Seems such a shame not to come!

Fraid not graceylacey.

It's a shame. We are not that well travelled and have come to like Tenerife. Also, you've no idea how hard it is to get resort, airport and dialysis unit (Hospiten Sur) close together.

Have you tried flights with BA. We have flights in June for 16 nights for two peolple at £232 and you can get flights for two people in September for a week or more at £207. these flights are with GB airways though who are due to be taken over by easy jet so just how it is going to work out i don't know for sure. flights are from Manchester, where will you be flying from?

Belfast unfortunately. BA/GB Airways don't fly direct.

I heard about a year ago that Easyjet were going to fly to Tenerife for but so far nothing.

I foresee big problems for next year with (Tui) Thomas cook now controlling most of the flights (Thomson,,first choice,,Airtours) and GB Airways(BA) finishing in March, prices are going to rocket,, Easy jet are not to interested in routes over 2 hours, it could be a problem year. but I do hear a rumour that BA may fly the route on their own behalf.

I wanted to come over in the new year but as Macbee says...its just too expensive. I was looking for a cheap week before my main holiday in the summer. I dont understand why its cheaper to go to the other islands...
So looks like im off to Lanza instead...
