A walk from Vilaflor to La Centinela

For anyone who fancies a hike, I am planning to walk from Vilaflor to La Centinela mirador/restaurant on Friday 22nd August. As the walk is linear, the meet-up will be at the 342 bus stop at Los Cristianos. The bus goes at around 09.30am so you will need to be there a little before this time. We will then return to Los Cristianos from La Centinela by bus at the end of the walk. The walk is nearly all downhill until near the end at Tamaide, from where there are three barrancos to cross, so we will have to climb out of each of these. However, the total amount of climbing is only around 150 mtrs. After the biggest climb, La Centinela restaurant is reached at the end of the walk, so we can have a drink etc. and take in the spectacular outlook from the mirador. The walk is a mixture of country roads and old cobbled caminos, initially passing through Vilaflor then pine forests, from where we will have good restrospective views of the high mountains. Once free of the pine trees, one of the highlights of the walk is the ever-expanding view of the south coast and also the view from La Centinela mirador. The walk should take around 3.5 to 4 hours and is around 8 miles long. Please let me know if you are interested in coming along.

It looks as though there will be five of us with the possibility of a sixth on the walk tomorrow. Those walking, besides myself are, Imablue, Torrenter, Tottyas. There is also a member of the 'other forum' and possibly Dave, who came last time. Work committments mean that he couldn't give a definite yes or no. See you at the bus-stop.

Have a good walk as it is only five weeks now before we return to Tenerife. It's a bit worrying though as I don't know where the last eight weeks have gone though. See you all soon.
