Well.after my experience last week at Silverstone Rally School, I am now well and truly bitten by the bug!!!!

So...does anyone know if this sport happens on the island as i am dying to get involved!!!

It is normally done on the island in white mercedes with a taxi sign on the top.

there,s a rally that goes on and it has stages all round the island ,so many days in each placeas for participating think you,d best come and look at the narrowness of the roads that are used up in "tijoco alto" and "la conception "where they held a stage last year the "barranco del ye "going to/from "taucho" will frighten the (cr ) no, life out of you

I watched one in La Guancha in 2006. Only saw one crash and they weren't injured so maybe it's not too dangerous. Rather you than me though.

Had the San Miguel one up here in El Roque in October, absolutely amazing, don"t know how you get to drive in it though

Yes, it happens here! Have a look HERE, and HERE to begin with. There was a schedule once that I found that gave the Canaries rally schedule but the link is inactive now ... presumably it was taken down once the last rally took place, but it seems quite popular here. Hopefully others will know more.

Used to compete 25 years ago but it costs so much money it is very difficult to be competitive without sponsorship.
