This is slightly off topic but when we come to Tenerife next year if his nibbs brings his clubs will he be able to get a game with someone. He is a novice, just joined a golf club and he is having lessons,so he needs someone who will go easy with him.He should be better at it next yearas the lessons are costing a fortune, but it gets him out of the house and from under my feet

as long as he has no handycap, he can only go to play at the los palos golf course. all the other golf courses requiere a handycap, unless he only wants to practise on the driving range. sir og though might give you a more satisfying answer.

You are right in a way yes you need a handicap certificate to play on the courses, but they may ask your handicap they dont ask you to produce it say whatever 18 and your on...

The only card needed in Tenerife Golf Courses is a Visa card they make Dick Turpin look good....

@ollyvee: Don't worry - I only started playing this year, so he will probably embarass me I'm keen on trying, and will play with anyone at any time within reason!

Los Palos is great for novice players, as the course is fairly easy and short. They are also quite relaxed about dress code - as long as you wear a collared shirt/polo top - I usually go in denim shorts or jeans.

Incidentally, I played twice as a beginner at Adeje - though I wouldn't recommend it, as most players there are quite good, and the course is long.

I figured Boxing day could be good to 'get out of the house' for a couple of hours for some peace & quiet and convivial company - afternoon maybe?
