Casa de Cantabria (in the former Clarets building)

Went last night for a meal with friends and had a brilliant night (feeling it now though)

We sat at the back and had a few drinkies to start with, and the area actually looks like a terrace, they have cut down all the bushes so you can look over to Finca del Arte, very pleasant

We placed our order while we were sitting outside and the waiters came and got us when the starters were ready. We chose a selection of starters including garlic prawns, garlic mushrooms, snails, salad, g bread and devil sausages and all were fab.

We then each had a main course including staeks which were absolutley delicious
the boys had numerous brandies and coffees and we then retired to the bar area, which feels like a "proper" bar now, with bar stools and a TV. Howver it doesnt infringe on the restauant as they have built a seperating wall

A definate recommendation from the emskie

BTW they are making a kids play area out the back so will also be a great place to take the kids in a safe environment

Well - that rules out a visit from a poor old pensioner like me

The prices have increased since they moved 100 metres up the hill

... and it was only because of Clarets that they could charge their original prices (they were just a little less expensive)

At the end of the day, it's a Spanish restaurant. The food is good - but it's still a Spanish restaurant. You can get the same quality food for half the price a few minutes drive away.

If they think that they have a captive audience because of the local timeshare developments, I believe that they will be disappointed
