| The Castle Well what a pleasant surprise this place was! I have walked past this restaurant many times over the years and am embarrassed now to admit I thought it looked a typical British cafe with cheap beer and cheap food so I turned my nose up at it. It is situated on the beachfront side of Pueblo Canario, just before the start of Geranium Walk, coming from centre of Las Americas end. Friends of ours raved about the fabulous food on the 7 euro 3 course menu so I reluctantly went to visit, expecting it to be the usual rubbish. When we arrived at around 1pm it was already very busy - the place is spotlessly clean and the waitresses were efficient and pleasant. Instead of the 3 course we opted for the Sunday lunch and it was the best one I have had in Las Americas, proper cuts of beef or good sized chicken portion, lovely veg, the tastiest Yorkshire pudding I have had and nice gravy. I asked for a smaller portion and got what I assumed was the childrens for 3.99 euros but there was more than enough for me. I then chose the jam roly-poly - big mistake, it was huge. In my opinion this place is well worth a visit, we will be trying the set menu when we return next week and sorry Sun Inn fans, but this is far superior. __________________ Attractive studio for holiday lets at Los Geranios, Puerto Colon area.
