Monasterio Restaurant, Puerto De La Cruz, Tenerife

Has anyone been to the Monasterio outside Purto de la Cruz? Can you give me exact directions and what are the prices like? Is it worth the drive from the South?

I've been there, and it's really close to Puerto, 5-10 min.
Just outside Los Realejos, following La Montaņeta road.

Wasn't particularly impressed with the main evening restaurant. Went there to celebrate my mum's 70th, nephews 16th & sons 13th, for dinner - I ate very little of it then threw up for Britain...

Went back about 6 months later for Sunday brunch - it was wonderful and very reasonable (28euros for 2 of us, inc more food than we could eat & champagne!!).

We were lucky and got a window seat - views to die for. It was full of very smart & sassy looking Spaniards. Highly recommended, but either book in advance, or be prepared to wait, if you want a much revered window spot.

Hey Maxine

Are you talking about the patio/terrace?
That's the restaurant facing the ocean, and where I had brunch with mimosas as well.

Btw, for those who had not been there, there are few theme restaurants in the Monasterio premises such as seafood, red meats, tapas, cafe-bistro, etc...

Cheers.

Yes, sounds like that one - couldn't remember the name

It really was stunning, food was fab and there's plenty to wander round and look at after, so well worth the trip from the south.

We were there als and have had a fantastic dinner !!! for 4 persons we had to pay € 99 . We had apetiser, 4 salads with a bottle of white wine , the 2 woman had a fish plate my friend a Big T-boon, and I had a paleta de cordero (sheep sholder). After that we had a dessert (tiramisu) and coffee. We also had two bottles of red wine. So not expensive at all .
You can visit the kitchens to see how they prepare and they are not affreight to show the kitchens are VERY CLEAN !!!!
The gardens arround the building of the ex-monatery is very nice.
Is not so easy to find , better go a little moment earlyer than needed to be at the just time for your meal.
We are going every time, and we are not afreight to invite friend to join us !!
