Well a new reason to hate the Pios. Elvis Costello is doing 2 nights in Las Palmas on June 30 and July 1 at the Alfredo Krauss auditorium. Why cant he do one night there and one in Tenerife like a lot of the top artists do?
It's part of their Arrecife de las Musicas season, also performing a few days before is Marianne Faithful cue Mars Bar jokes.

not fair!... even though i don't think elvis costello is a great live performer - hubby, who likes his music lots, and i saw him at a festival some years ago and thought he was a bit boring. i'd like to see marianne faithful, though

UD Las Palmas as their logo have a yellow tweety pie type bird. The fans sing "Pio Pio" (The noise a canary bird makes) and when we play them we add a "Maricon" so it is "Pio Pio" - Maricon!(Homosexual)

Hmmmm ok, i think i much prefer the English chants, for example,
"your mums your dad your dads your mum you're interbred you burnley scum"
Seems to make much more sense to me!

I saw him in Stockholm, and he was quite good. Have to admit that he can be a bit boring though - he was a bit odd in his early days.
