Another 116 African migrants arrived by boat on Monday in Los Cristianos, Tenerife
The trickle of migrants from Africa continued on Monday with another 116 arrivals by boat.
The boat was spotted off the coast of Punta de Rasca around mid-day and was intercepted by a coastguard patrol vessel which escorted it into harbour.
It arrived a few hours later in Los Cristianos and the occupants were taken off to be looked after by the emergency services. Up to eight of the migrants are believed to be young boys. The adults will be transferred to the holding centre at Hoya Frķa outside Santa Cruz later today to await deportation back to their countries of origin.
In El Hierro, a boat carrying 56 sub-Saharan Africans arrived on Monday morning, bringing the total for the last 72 hours in the Canaries to over 200.
