Six men from the Canaries are among 41 being quizzed by police over child pornography images exchanged on the internet and other serious offences.

The arrests were made over the week-end in a number of regions across the islands after an anonymous tip-off was sent to the police's special Internet Crime Unit. Dozens of computers, external hard drives and DVDs were seized in the coordinated arrests, which were carried out by over one hundred police officers.

It is believed that the six Canarians being held will be charged with 'grooming' of youngsters via chat rooms on the internet.
