my wife and i were there on friday and the people on the quads came rushing down then the police came and they taped the area off, and there were people there all day with gloves on etc.

My flatmate said she was on the beach at the time & indeed they brought a body out....she heard through the grapevine it was a homeless guy (I don't know if this is to be true)

I was close by on the beach late morning, loads of police there, red cross guys etc. something had happened on the land which is adjacent to the derelict building next door to the escuela municipal de vela. (more of less opposite Chicagos). Later on loads of plain clothes (forensic?) were there wearing gloves (and no, it wasn't cold!)and the whole area of land was taped off. Looked on several internet sites that evening but couldn't find anything relating to it. So its still a bit of a mystery.

We were told yesterday that a 70 year old Dutch woman took ill on the beach. Paramedics, police etc attended to her and she was helicopter-lifted to hospital where, sadly, she later died.

Not sure how far this is to the truth of the exact event - only just what we were told.
