Will all the people that built or paid for the properties involved have them taken away if the case is proven??? The biggest worry for most of us still dreaming of moving over is the Spanish way of taking back land and property and leaving you with nothing...

I am not certain these properties have been built yet????

The case may be in relation to alleged fraudulent planning consents granted ( but not yet built hopefully)

I know there is an on going situation at Compostella Golf and there are rumours regarding another site near by but not aware of anything else....yet !!!!

Peter is right that these allegations (which are little more than political trouble-making) relate to planning applications for properties which have not yet been built.

With regard to the "Spanish" tendency to claw back property, this is, for the umpteenth time, the VALENCIAN LANDGRAB LAW. It does NOT apply in the Canaries.

I cannot believe that there is a scandal featuring Arona Council.

Thanks for the link, Peter. Verrry interesting (any one remember Rowan & Martin´s Laugh In ). I have an option on a property yet to be built near the seafront in Arona (and I mean very near the seafront) ... but have not heard anything about it starting for over a year now ... maybe this is the answer.
