A bank in Playa de las Americas in Tenerife was robbed at knifepoint by two men. The branch of the Banesto bank says that 20,000 euros were taken in the hold-up, the latest in a spate of robberies in the area in recent months.
The pair entered the branch at 13:00 and threatened the two employees with knives before making off with the money. Police say they have good pictures of the raiders from the bank's CCTV cameras and are confident they will make arrests soon.
