Thumbs up Bitacora hotel

We (me, the hubby and 12 year old son) were at the
Bitacora May 2007
Great hotel, walking distance to all the pubs and beaches.
Well maintained gardens, very clean pool area.
The rooms are big enough for 3 to share without treading on each other.
Cleaners came daily.
The food is fantastic I could have eat three breakfasts every day.
Even my son (who is a pain to feed) loved the meals.
All the staff are very friendly
Can't comment on the entertainment as we like to go round the pubs and meet as many people as possible.
We have just booked to go back in August, would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for 4 star accommodation.

I would give 5 rating

My Mood:
I always stay at the Bitacora because it is predictable in its cleanliness, good quality of service and the food is always fantastic. Although the first impression of the exterior is of a typical 70’s hotel, inside it is spacious, modern and updated

Located 10 minutes walk from Playa Las Vistas beach (LC), 15 minutes walk from Playa Troya beach (PDLA) and close to the main shopping and bar areas makes it ideal (without being on-top of the noisy night pub/club scene). There are also mini markets within 150 yards from front and back too.

The cost savings by booking direct with the Hotels web site means I can have 10 days for the price of 7 (compared to a package holiday price), I get a free ‘VIP’ Taxi both ways without ANY queuing or waiting on a coach 45 minutes to fill up - 55 minutes from plane landing to sitting on the beach is my record

At breakfast time the spacious food hall gets busy from about 8:30am although it opens a 7am. Evening time is less hectic after 8:30 pm, opening is at 6:30pm. Evening requires you to be shown to your table – drinks costs are on top of (half/full) board allowance. No beach clothing is allowed at evening sittings. The quality of food and choice available always delights every time I visit and is a real plus point

‘Superior’ rooms overlook the pools and are south and west facing. Rooms have safe hire, toiletries, mini bar (charges apply) and are cleaned regularly If requesting a non-superior room, try asking for a room NOT facing the (disused/dilapidated) Parrot Park as some see this as an eyesore on the northern boundary - literally

When I visit in March/November the clientele, many of which are regulars, are mainly more mature in age – fine by me. Internet access is provided by four, pay-per-use PC’s, and by FREE wifi coverage in the lower food hall level – excellent if you have your wifi enabled phone or laptop with you. There is a games room for the kids. Entertainment includes traditional dancing and retro-pop singing acts. The staff are efficient and work jolly hard

5 stars from me!
