La Siesta Hotel - Fantastic!

My family and I stayed in the La Siesta for 2 weeks from 18 September until 2nd October 2007. I was a little aprehensive about the hotel itself after reading some reviews on various sites but I had no need to be!
We stayed in one of the superior rooms. Our room overlooked the pool. It was spacious, clean and tidy. Maid came in every day to clean and make up the beds. It is worth paying 24 euros for the fridge (plus a deposit - sorry cant remember how much! which you got back on checking out) For the 24 euros the fridge is stocked up with pop, soda water, water and beer. You can asked them to re-stock it but dont bother as its cheaper to go to the supermarket opposite the hotel. With a superior room you can use the spa for 2 hours everday however you have to book in advance.
Food was always of a high standard, plenty of meat, fish, veg, fruit, cereal, salad, rice, deserts etc - only thing I would say about the food is can be a bit repetitive if you are there for 2 weeks and I feel there could have been more stuff for children. Have also got to mention the staff in the restaraunt they were all SUPER! very friendly and welcoming and loved my little niece who was with us.
Entertainment - During the day there were always plenty things to do and the animation team were always running past telling you about what was on next. Kids club (Magic Park) is also 1st class hardly saw our niece as she was always the 1st one there on a morning (11am) and the last one out at closing time (6pm). All we had to do was take her water and things to eat and she was happy as larry. The staff who run the dayime activities and the kids club again are all 1st class guys and girls. They also ran the kids mini disco every night a 8.30pm.
The evening entertainment was varied and overall pretty good, They had some really good acts on however they also had a few which were pretty naff. Keep an eye out for Tina Turner look a like!

Oh just a couple of other things drinks in the bar and restaraunt were above on average in price - think it was 2.20 euros for small bottles of pop. You do not pay for drinks at the time in the restaraunt the guy puts what you have in his little machine and you pay for them at the end of your stay. Men also MUST wear long trousers in the restaraunt on an evenng and they are very strict with this. We saw a few men being asked to go and change.
The pool area is clean and tidy although the sun beds did not get cleared away every night - I think there were 3 occassions whilst we were there that they were left out oevernight. There were plenty of sunbeds - had to laugh though as there were a few mornings when I woke up at 6am for a drink and I could see and hear people down by the pool putting their towels out. So I could imagine that during high season you will have to be an early bird to get sunbeds. There is a lifeguard on duty from 10am until 6pm
Honestly this hotel is great, excellent staff, location, food. So please do not have any concerns about staying here. In my party were 4 adults (age range from 25 yrs to 40 yrs) and 1 child (3 yrs) we all had a fantastic time. This place caters for all age groups. We will definately be booking to go back to this hotel again next year.
