was in a few times in january nice wee place sold tennents lager as well dearer than local beer as to be expected tennents was brill one day and not so good the next so drank the local stuff overall great wee bar
Well... this bar has changed hands since I was last in there a couple of years back and I have a feeling it will change hands again in the not so distant future (let's hope so) because although the barman is a fantastic guy who probably is the reason that most people go in the place, unfortunately the owner seems to have a HUGE chip on her shoulder and cannot seem to be able to accept the fact that there is more than one person born on the same day
So... after doing nothing wrong and not saying anything nasty to anyone, I was asked to leave this bar last night for the sole reason that I happen to share a birthday with the owner, Heather. I wasn't even allowed to speak to my friends and let them know where I was going.
Fortunately though, I am not a person to get put off by that, so I popped over the road to O'Reilly's and got mightily drunk, danced my socks off to good music and vaguely remember being pulled up on stage for something or other... probably to do with being 35
So... Cobra Bar? No. I would not recommend it. The most unfriendly and prejudiced people I have ever met on the Island, and I've been here a good few years and have met a LOT of people, and have a lot of friends, so that's saying something

I'm glad you had a good time across the road. Sounds like you had a good birthday in all. Thanks for the info on the Cobra Bar, sounds like we should stay well clear from there in the future.

It's a shame really, as the previous owners were always very friendly with us. We used to go in there all the time after the footy, as friends of ours were on the darts team. Anyway... back off to bed now as I have one MOTHER of a hangover and have to go to Maxine's BBQ later!

You had the mother of all hangovers, we know you polished off a bottle of Moet between four of you and judging by the state of you Saturday aft its safe to presume you had more than just the Mowt.
Are you sure you didn't blow the candles out on the cake, steal the stripogram & start unwrapping pressies???
Mr TB can back me up, as can the people with me. I spoke to no one but the bar man most of the evening, so to be threatened with violence for no reason was a bit surprising.
Also, anyone that knows me can vouch for the fact that I'm not aggressive in the slightest on alcohol, I have NEVER been in a fight in my life!... plus I only got really drunk afterwards in O'Reilly's. At the time we walked into the Cobra I'd had 2 vodka redbulls & a glass & a half of Moet. The bottle was shared between 4 people
