Hi Can anyone tell us if the Theatre bar in Garden city has opened yet.

If it is open has anyone been in.

I went past it today and they were still putting up the outside signage.

I believe they will open before the offical opening night to check out all the equipment etc. Tomorrow or Saturday were mentioned BUT I was told this two weeks ago so not sure. I will ask at lunch time when I go for a sarnie.

This is my best mates bar and it will be open on Friday. Its €20 on the door to include a buffet and all drinks and its looking to be a busy one. Went in yesterday, the decor is amazing and all the work has been done, its just a case of tidying up now. I will be knocking out a couple of tunes at the opening night so might see you there (no throwing tomatoes!!!)

What exactly is it SuzyQ - buffet and drinks and artists singing show/theatre tunes? Am intrigued....

Yes theres bubbly on arrival, nibbles and entertainment. I'm doing a couple of west end tunes as that is what I am going to be doing there with co-owner Nick Page, but not sure what other artists are doing, just their own thing I presume. So much work and money has gone into this enterprise and I wish them all the best.

Well, it finally opened last night, on schedule and it was fantastic, as I knew it would be. No seats to be had by 20.45, and the free bar made for a great atmosphere. Managed to stay sober until I had done a couple of numbers then kind of descended into sheer silliness, not been so plastered for a long time, and wow, am I paying for it now!!
I wish them all the best, they deserve it, the work they have put into the bar. It is sheer class.
