It has a triple width terrace right on the promenade at Fanabe, just short of the El Duque headland. There are comfortable sofas to relax on and watch the world go by ... and in the evening, there is also a fabulous and unobstructed view of the sunset and La Gomera in silhouette. Just inside there is a chic and well-stocked bar that provides everything from water and coffee to exotic cocktails. This bar is open throughout the day for drinks, coffees, cakes, etc., but for those who want to dine, the kitchen serves an excellent range of food with a slightly Caribbean/Creole bent, but the menu covers everything including burgers. pizzas, and pasta as well, but there is nothing of a fast food diner about this place. This is as good a restaurant as you'll find anywhere. Children are also catered for, with their own version of the food and cocktails menus, and even little gifts to keep them amused! The resident singer is the well-known Joanne Wenton, who sings a mixture of blues, swing and Motown numbers up to around 9pm, when Miss Kitty herself comes on stage to perform a type of visual musical comedy that doesn't have any competition in Tenerife ... this is one of a kind stuff here. It is also professionalism of the highest order, with many years of experience having gone into the production of the type of entertainment that Tenerife really needs. Pleasant, happy, helpful staff round off the experience, which is billed as "the ultimate dining experience". This it is. We will be back soon. | | | 28th July 2007, 14:58 | #3 (permalink) | | Tenerifian Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: East Cleveland Gender: Posts: 184 | M Hi, What's the best time to get there for a night out. I think they serve food all day. Really recommend it. | | | 2nd August 2007, 02:26 | #6 (permalink) | Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Tenerife South Gender: Posts: 2,434 | Fabulous!! Had two absolutely stunning nights there, and plan to have as many more as I can!! Miss Kitty is the ultimate entertainer - fabulous, witty, talented, hilarious & has the whole audience in her hands and makes each and every one if them feel that she's there to enetertain them alone..... I have no complaints, other than the extremely jealous bar owners around her, who would give an arm to have a quarter of the talent she, and her staff, posess. A highly recommended night out for everybody, of any age - I was equally entertained by the expressions of those around me - and can't wait to go again!! Magnificent!!! __________________ Max x | | | 3rd August 2007, 00:58 | #7 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Costa del Silencio/Portsmouth UK Gender: Posts: 787 My Mood: | Kitty's Been twice & the wait for drinks was totally unacceptable. 20 mins & 30 mins for each order. Have e mailed Kitty/Wayne & he understands he has problems & is trying to rectify them, so I hope he manages to get things put right as the cocktails were delicious when they eventualy arrived!! One of the nights I was there we arrived at 10 & the cabaret did not start til around 10.30. Miss Kitty talked a lot between the songs & never having seen 'her' before I was sorry to see the show was totally mimed, I thought some of the songs may have been sung live. Lovely setting & would go back earlier to try the food & to see the 'easy lsitening' Linda Day who I think appears on a thursday night. She has been on the Island for years & is a good singer who sounds like Dionne Warwick. I have now seen Miss Kitty & do not feel the need to see the same show again even if there are slight variations. Jaype | Jaype didn't realise that Miss Kitty mimed, as have not seen her new show, did you expect her to sing live? I have personally not been to this venue, but do intend to go, to see for myself. Did the miming really "put you off?"...Or did you expect live vocals? Just interested to know your views __________________ ©Cazten | | | 5th August 2007, 12:10 | #9 (permalink) | | Super Tenerifian Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Costa del Silencio/Portsmouth UK Gender: Posts: 787 My Mood: | Miss Kitty's Hi Cazten I really did not know what to expect. I think afer reading a review in one of the free papers, I thought that it was going to be more like an impersonator than a singer miming. So I expected live singing. My friends were disappointed too, some said they thought it unprofessional. I thought the miming was quite good though; just not what I expected Jaype | | | 14th August 2007, 02:22 | #10 (permalink) | Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Tenerife South Gender: Posts: 2,434 | Well, just has my 3rd night there - fabulous, again!! The show was different again - with regards to other comments here, there are very few acts I've seen in Miss Kitty's area (drag queen, though the term seems inappropriate!) where they don't mime! Food was fab, service great, entertainment outstanding..... Not sure what others are looking for, but from all the people I spoke to - and did a bit of a survey (once in PR, always in PR!!) and the majority were exceptionally happy, and had spent several nights of their holiday there!! What more proof does a person require!! __________________ Max x | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | | |
