As an owner on Port Royale I can honestly say the community made my life hell, when i first moved on to the complex not just because i had a dog but also because i am at least 30 years younger than most of the owners . I loved being told you are a renter you can not have a dog! And the realisation that i wasn't renting was fantastic, I was threatened with alsorts of court proceedings told i was going to have my dog taken away because i wasn't taking good enough care of her, i even had the council come to my door and ask to see my dog! Which if anyone knows who knows my baby is,she is one of the most cared for dogs ever. Sorry Andy i did meet u on the morning dogwalk up the back but the presidents wife doesn't like dogs apparently!!!!
It does really annoy me that the community will concentrate on trival things such as renters having dogs, when it's perfectly ok to have a scooter stolen or car damaged outside your own house but have to pay to see the security footage, even though we pay for a security guard but when the presidents car is danaged then we pay out of our community fees or from communtiy insurance, can someone tell me what i am paying for!

SHORT term renters that caused all that noise with their dogs, children etc......... SHOULD NOW BE APOLOGIZING TO US OWNERS WHO LIVE THERE ALL YEAR ROUND.,
INSTEAD OF CRITIZING THIS GREAT COMPLEX.

SHAME ON YOU, AT LEAST WE WILL NEVER HAVE YOU RENTING ON THE COMPLEX AGAIN.

HOORAY
why are you having ago at the renters why not have a go at the owners who rent them out they are the ones who rent them out to make money from them.

That's a novel theory, so the committee made your life hell partly because you were younger than them?
Why would you be threatened with court proceedings unless there had been complaints?
I am getting tired of people saying they are being "badly treated" by the committee - they are not the Mafia for Gods sake.
When the full story comes out ( if it ever does) there is always a good reason for the complaints, which presumably come from other residents.
I dont know you so dont know what your particular gripe is about, all I can say is there are quite a few responsible dog owners on Port Royale who live there quite happily, regardless of whether they rent or own and they cause no trouble to anyone, everyone lives in harmony.
I also know there are some who cause a lot of stress to their neighbours.
One young owner last year (who no doubt claims he loves his dog) left his dog alone in his apartment every day when he went to work.
That poor dog started barking and howling from the minute it was left on its own until its owner arrived home hours later.
This happened every single day - do you think that was acceptable to everyone who lived in close proximity?
As for your concerns about damage etc just ask the committee - I have already suggested to you earlier how you can easily contact them - but you know that already dont you.

I don't think that dogs barking all day long is acceptable, however I would say that people should be given a chance to resolve situations before they are threatened with court proceedings, evicted etc.

for sale signs

hi there
can anybody tell me what the situation is on putting for sale signs up in port royale!
my parents are selling their property on there and would ideally like a quick sale. they are selling it with one of the agents in los cris but today thay have received a call asking them to take the sign down. they own the apartment so can they be made to take the sign down on there own property.

advise please

I think you will find for sale/to let signs arent allowed on most places, not just Port Royale. The agent must have known that!!!
They could always put a card up in reception as well as in the for sale section of the Port Royale website

Rule 10.22 of the Port Royale Rule Book states "No 'For Sale' or 'For Rent' or similar signs shall be placed in or attached to the Apartment Units".

Oh my god, you mean that someone bought a property thinking they could trust someone renting to obey basic rules of a community and to see a return on their investment

the very thought makes my blood boil

Well the owners should take some of the blame not just the renter, they want to earn money from renting out their property great for them but they or the company that might rent it out on their behalf should vet them more closely.

thats what i do for my clients even a little doubt about someone just like today a girl wanted long let but when i got down to the nitty gritty it was for 4 girls its not worth the hassel, but then some owners just think of the money.
