The work has started today on the second pool so hopefully will not be too long until its finished. There is a meeting of the community on Saturday 28th June, I have not been given the agenda yet.

    Hi Rainbow!
That is great news about the pool. If you are watching the workers, do tickle them with a palm leaf every ten minutes to keep them busy. A friend of ours was watching them from her lounger last year; they moved a bag of concrete about 4 metres in four hours and spent all the time chatting!!!
Please would you let us know the details of the agenda when you receive it? Many thanks.

Thinking of you, Blue Marlin....working five days per week at the moment plus caring for Mum on Saturdays and one weeknight!

Sorry about your tenants ,Tilly....that's really mean of them. Hope you soon find replacements.

This is from the Council newsletter this week. It looks like they are being very determined to pursue these projects for our area. A very trustworthy Forum member also thinks that Lidl is being built on our side of the motorway!!

We seem to be having it all: padle court, mini-markets, plaza, BMX Park, Nursery building and Cultural Centre. We also have a posh frocks shop and a butchers. The ice cream man comes round as does the knife-grinder.

Now I'm not one to complain, not an alcoholic)....... but.......

a bar? a cafe? a restaurant on our side of the Calle Fundadores Cooperativa???? We must be the only populated area low down from the mountain cone that is well.....dry! The big Dorada warehouse does not seem to want us to help ourselves (snarling dogs at the gate) and even if we could buy Doradas there is nowhere to sit....and the area is lacking in the smells of cooking (apart from our own), clattering cutlery, candles, garlic bread, comfortable chairs, dishy waiters and brightly clothed tables with the flower in the centre. We really need the bar, a cafe and a restaurant or three for camaraderie, to enable we camel-people to get together. We all have to disperse, someone has to drive or we dodge, forming a camel-train, across the notorious, crossing-free, tunnel and bridge-free San Miguel Road and back again.

    Wishing........

Re: Las Chafiras Property Owners in Tenerife

    Hi Everyone,

Not posted for a very long time but nice to see the chinese is up and running and the pool has been started for our return on the 6th August......

Anyway, I have just hired a Clio (4 door with A/C) for 3 weeks from 6th August for £296 from Car Hire with discount rates from Car Hire 3000 (via travelsupermarket) and they do a meet & greet at the airport and take you to the local office in Las Chafiras and the local office is called Orlando Car hire.

Has anybody seen a car hire company called ORLANDO in Las Chafiras?
    Please let me know.

Price is very cheap as Autoreisen wanted £400+

Orlando car hire are just across the road from the Dorada Brewery down behind the engineering works. I have rented from them in the past very good service we got an upgrade on the car from the lady when she saw our address was local.

yes on the left as you go down the hill to textile sur wont use the company again they charged me a fortune for fuel and in the end had to leave it 1/4 full and the next person would also pay for a full tank.

We always use Autoreisen at the airport; very reliable but they are sticklers for the right documentation.

Did anyone attend the meeting at La Concepcion last week and is that last pool lined and working now?
