Arona resorts set for 22 million euro facelift

The main tourist areas in Arona are to receive a massive facelift under a 22 million euro project unveiled yesterday by the local council.

Los Cristianos, Playa de Las Américas and Costa del Silencio will benefit from the modernisation programme, which will be completed over the next four years. Arona mayor José Alberto González said the renovations of obsolete buildings and amenities were badly needed to help the area retain its popularity among foreign tourists in the face of growing competition from countries such as Turkey and Croatia. The first phase of the project begins in October and will see improvements to Calle Arquitecto Gómez Cuesta in Las Américas.

There is a premises near the little wooden bridge near Veronicas and for the past few years it is in a dreadful state.
Why not penalise the owners for leaving it that way. Someone must own it!
