Summer Nites, El Mirador, Los Cristianos, Tenerife

    Well what can i say

at first glance it looked nice to sit and have a nice cup of coffee (which is nice) however the food was another thing all together one evening we stopped off for a bite to eat, i ordered the lamb chops with a salad - well i have bever in all my life seen such fatty chops but i tried them and the taste was horrible in fact bordering on disgusting, anyway i ate my salad and asked for the bill - we waited and waited and waited, i kept loking around for anyone but couldnt see them then they all rolled out of the back and one of them i think it was the cook (no i wont be calling him a chef) with a cigerette in his hands) i still waited for the bill, sent my son over to remind them and she waved she then just stood there having a chat -

that is not the service i would expect from anywhere really and wont be visiting there again.

I have eaten there a couple of times and thought the food really good, but as I am not a big meat-eater, I can't comment on their meat. However, the house red was pretty disgusting!

Didn't think the service was either good or bad.

In that case try the restaurant next door to Summer Nites (Las Pergolas), btw it's owned by the same guy.
We had a good meal there though, good service too. Have eaten in Summer Nites a couple of times, wasn't that impressed. Better of sticking with the drink there.

We go to Summer Nites quite often, and eat the fish and chips etc. As said previously, if we want a nice meal, we eat in a restaurant not a bar. Did you tell anybody in there that you didn't enjoy your meal and give them a chance to offer redress? We always enjoy our evenings there and find that the staff can't do enough for you. Always pleasant.

The Las Pergolas tries quite hard with atmosphere, service, music and a good selection of quality wines.

But it really lets itself down with second rate cooking. The food is mainly cooked from frozen and the microwave is much in evidence.

Real pity, because it has a more interesting and modern menu than many UK style restaurants in Tenerife.

Sorry but you are wrong about the microwave and frozen food, my wife worked there as a commis chef until February and everything is cooked from fresh on a daily basis, what actually lets this place down is the two chef's don't like each other and the fact the other staff feel they need to take sides.
The service is great and the waitresses work really hard and yes the menu is really good, shame about the other problems there though.

I know it sells itself as a Bistro.
We had a fair meal in the bar watching the footy one night and the beer and cider was good.
The kids left their chicken kievs. I don't think they like deep fried chicken kievs. Partly my fault as I should have asked how they were cooked.
