HELP! - Desperate to sell some stuff to save being evicted...
Hoping you nice peeps in the forum can help me.
A few months ago, I suddenly went from an income of €1500 a month down to €200 a month. Although things are picking up a bit, most of my new work is monthly paid, and I won't see any money till October. In the meantime, I am over €2000 behind with the rent, 300€ behind with my car payments, in overdraft at the bank, and mere days away from having my internet connection suspended. I'm lying awake at nights worrying about what would happen if my cats needed a vet, or I needed a doctor. I NEED TO SELL STUFF!!!
I have loads of stuff for sale, and loads of time to do extra paid work, but posting individual items on here, or on "tenebay" has had no response at all. I know there are lots of others in the same boat, right now, and I'm not asking for charity. I just want to sell a few things for a fair price (and work!)
Some of the Items (PM me if you think I might have something else you'd buy!):
Roland 250W complete PA system - old but working - €150
Several old PC's - mainly Pentium II, but there are a couple of newer ones - from €30 each.
Between 10 and a dozen 14" PC monitors from €10 each (or even less if you buy the lot!)
Canon Lasershot 3200 Laser Printer - Needs a Fuser unit, which is a standard part, and fairly easy to replace. I was going to fix it and sell for about €100, but can't afford the part. - €10
Canon BJC240 Colour Inkjet Printer - Took in as part of a job lot, supposedly working, but can't afford to put ink cartridges in it to test it - Hence €5
Car Roof Rack - originally for Citroen BX, but will fit most 4-door cars without "gutters". - Originally cost 300 UKP, and used only once to get me over here! - Make me a reasonable offer.
Karaoke - 25,000 karaoke tracks and player software, transfered to your own PC or hard drive for just €199, supplied on a new external drive for €299, or complete with a brand new PC for just €599! (Includes Winamp system - also available at extra cost Swift Elite twin deck KJ player, or MediaMax.)
Karaoke updates - up to 3 months of updates for Sunfly, Legends, EK, EZ and Zoom on most karaoke systems for just €30 (Mediamax updates are €50, as I have to pay for the update code, CDG updates, if you still use discs - €10 per disc.)
I also have a Baby Buggy, two child car-seats, several old games consoles, with games (including a Sega Mega-drive with "Sonic The Hedgehog", and a Sega Masterdrive), half-a-dozen radio-cassette players, from walkman size up to gigantic "ghetto-blasters", lots of computer parts and electronic components, several other mixing consoles, amplifiers, etc., in fact, a storage area full of stuff which I need to clear, as I can't afford the storage cost.
EVERYTHING is open to reasonable offers!
And finally...
ME - Yes, buy me for cabaret, compering, karaoke (got my own 25,000 track system), any odd jobs you need doing in the daytime, PC repairs, electrical work.... in fact, ANYTHING LEGAL! I'll walk dogs, clean cars or empty bins if I have to. PM me with offers.

Tell you what that post took balls, i so wish i could help in fact i have read it five times to see if there is anything i could possibly remotely use in order to help, the only thing i might be able to use is the games consoles for the kids if you let me know what they are and what games come with them i will see what i can do, i am going through a rough spell myself at the moment but not on that scale yet so if i can help i will. This Island is so cruel yet we all still love it. At the end of the day if i can't help with anything else i will certainly come and buy you a few beers and offer a shoulder if that's any use????????

I wish!!! I presume you mean a "proper" full size one? I'm actually borrowing one right now, and if the fella ever needs it back, I'll be in deep doodoo! I do have a spare Sharp walkman size one, but it needs servicing. You're welcome to that for just a few euros if you have someone who can stop it spitting out discs!
Other than that, I'm afraid it's ebay and a UK address.
Thanks for the message.

I'll PM you on Monday when I've been to the lock-up. Thanks for your earlier call.
Another item to throw in here...
An electronic Shop Till. Nothing fancy, no price codes & stuff just straightfoward numbers in, sub-total, open, change, close!

Hi Suzi ..... they're as cheap as chips on ebay ..... just bought one for 16 quid brand new from the states!
Thanks J, will have a gander. Tones not mega desperate, he already has a rack mounted one but could do with another for copying if one comes up at the right price. Cheers.

Hi Suze - a lot of folk are starting to use a variety of MP3 players now - be they Playstation portables or basic MP3 players from the local electric shops. I know they have no autopause etc, the best you can do is add 10 secs of silence to the end of your tracks, but you can fit hundreds of tracks on say a 1 gig MP3. I use a PSP with a 4 gig memory stick in it - the screen is large and clear, and its quicker to look for trracks than turning your back to the crowd and fumbling in a box, changing discs, and then finding you have the wrong disc in (i've seen it too many times, from acts that have been here years). The downside is you will have to plug it in when you get to the venue, but only once per gig.
