Question Which is the best road to drive to Mount Teide in Tenerife?

I am going to drive to Tiede, now of three ways up, I can't decide which one to go for. The choice is between Guia de Isora, Arona or San Miguel. If you were going, which road would you prefer to drive up. steepness, sheer drops, winding roads all being considered.

Guia de Isora is my favourite, such lovely views, and by far the least winding roads. You drive through the pine forest's, although unfortunately a lot were damaged by last years fires, but even so it is a spectacular journey

Yeah! I love going San Miguel way, cause a) I like a challenge and b) I love watching my passengers sweat!

On the way up, they go through the same 5 stages as a death row inmate: denial ("you're not going THAT way, are you?"), anger ("If you don't turn this car round NOW......"), bargaining ("If you slow down, I'll buy you a beer/meal/house" - depends how fast I'm driving...), depression ("Oh God, I'm going to die!") and finally acceptance ("I'll just close my eyes and see you at the top/bottom." - depends how fast I'm driving...).

Seriously, if you don't like to be "challenged" as a driver, then go the Guia De Isora way!

None of them are as bad as the flipping Masca road The Guia route is pretty scenic, good views of the other islands if a clear day.
