Is it busy in the Canaries?

Hi, this is my first post and if i am in the wrong section sorry about that, i have been doing as much research as i can over the last 6 months or so about the idea of moving to tenerife or the like, i went to tenerife years ago on a lads holiday and did enjoy it (what i can remember of it!!!!) my main question i suppose is the island busy? i have read very mixed views on this some people saying it is always busy to some people being there for a few years and being out of work for a few months, i am not daft enough to think the work will come and find me i know it will be difficult, i am prepared to do pretty much anything with in reason, i am one of those people who is a "jack of all trades but a master of none" i will be coming with the other half who is a qualifed nursery nurse who i think would like to carry on with something similar,

Hiya ! i've lived in Tenerife now coming upto 19 years and i've never seen it as quite. The last 2 weeks have picked up slightly but it's a big worry for most of the business's here.

hello to one and all, i have been to fuerteventura a few times over the last 12 months, to be honest just because of cheap flights, went in november £24 return (ryanair), all the bar owners were saying the same it has been bad! even when we went in april it was the same, my first thought that it was because it was fuerteventura being a less busy island, i always hear of people going to tenerife so i assumed it was always busy! i tried to go new year but could not get a hotel for love nor money!!!

Well even Christmas wasn't as busy last year as previous years. The hotels could have been cheaper than apartments and people might have decided to stay in the hotels, that might be why you could not get a hotel for love nor money.
